Christmas market joins annual events going virtual

The popular Chi Omega holiday market, a gathering of about 300 merchants and small businesses with gifts and artisan goods, will take place in a virtual format this year.

The unofficial start of Dallas’ holiday shopping season, the market raises money via entrance fees to help support area nonprofits. During its 43-year run, the event has raised over $9m and dispersed it among 120 local nonprofits. Over a dozen local nonprofits will share in the funds raised in this year’s virtual market.

Fewer than 50 merchants participated in the first Chi Omega Christmas Market held at the NorthPark Inn in 1978 and raised $13,150 for Dallas nonprofits. In 2019, $560,000 was donated by the market to a variety of local charitable organizations.

Individual merchants from across the United States will be highlighted this year in a custom gift guide. A request for the guide can be made by filling out the “contact us” form on the event’s website.

Events such as this one offers a valuable marketing opportunity through the use of Promotional Products and Business Cards, not to mention a chance to increase sales.

Scheduled for November 10-21, the 12 Days of Chi Omega Christmas Virtual Market will continue the traditional First Call for Patrons, which allows shoppers making a donation the opportunity to shop the event a full day ahead of the event’s official start.
