What's Happening in Dallas, TX…

Unique Indian restaurant to roll into Texas

Based in New York, The Kati Roll Company is expanding outside of the city for a second time to make its first foray into Texas.

The new restaurant will be selling kati rolls, the Indian street food, at 1322 Elm Street here in Dallas. It will be the sixth location for the chain, which launched in Greenwich Village. Other locations for The Kati Roll Company include three in Manhattan - World Trade, Midtown West, and Midtown East – and one in the UK.

Print shops provide a number of products for newly opening restaurants, including banner printing services.

Kati rolls originated in Kolkata, India, the former home of Payal Saha, who, along with her husband Anil Bathwal, founded The Kati Roll Company. Bathwal is an executive chef and former advertising executive.

The rolls are a paratha flatbread wrap-type sandwich containing skewered meats with a lime cilantro chutney topping and an onion medley. A vegan alternative using roti instead of paratha is available.

The location for Dallas’ The Kati Roll Company, in the heart of the Central Business District, is par for the course for the company, which typically places its establishments in downtown worker neighborhoods. The eatery’s location influences its hours of operation, which are almost exclusively in the daytime with a closing time of between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.

A spokesperson for the company said The Kati Roll Company in Dallas will be opening sometime this spring.
