Two healthy Mediterranean restaurants opening in Dallas area

In a press release, a Mediterranean-style restaurant chain will be opening two locations in the area this year.

Based in Washington D.C., Cava is opening Cava Legacy West in Plano in the spring and a Cava in Uptown Dallas in the summer. Cava originated in 2006 as a Rockville, Maryland full-service restaurant.

The concept for the restaurant was developed by Ted Xenohristos, chef Dimitri Moshovitis, and Ike Grigoropoulos, who were childhood friends wishing to celebrate the traditional Greek and Mediterranean cooking flavors with which they grew up. Moreover, they wanted to do this in a modern-casual environment where they would be serving fresh, healthy, and Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

Cava offers rotating seasonal soups, juices, and roasted vegetables, in addition to year-round items such as spicy lamb meatballs, crazy feta, and a cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh. The company also offers packaged dips and spreads and other options in groceries; one of which is Whole Foods Market.

Cava purchased the Plano-based chain Zoes Kitchen, totaling over 250 restaurants, in 2018. When purchasing successful chains, new owners often makes small changes to the acquired chains' Letterheads and Logo Design.

The address for Cava Uptown will be 1919 McKinney Avenue, Dallas while Cava Legacy West will open at 7501 Windrose Avenue, Plano. Although the first in the Dallas area, the Lone Star State already has three Cava locations in Austin that opened in 2018.
