Trio of Dallas suburbs among top relocation destinations

A recently released study shows that Dallas-Fort Worth proved to be an attractive destination for those looking to make a fresh start in 2021.

The U-Haul Growth Index placed three area cities in the top 25 inbound destinations for U-Haul trucks last year. The three communities, Grapevine, Richardson, and Carrollton were ranked No. 15, No. 22, and No. 25 respectively. Each of the cities is within commuting distance of Dallas and illustrates the city's growth potential.

Real estate agencies frequently use printing services to provide takeaway Flyers of their for-sale homes.

Among the factors that Grapevine, Richardson, and Carrollton have in common is the increase in food and retail establishments and of family attractions. Grapevine has even taken on the mantle of “Christmas Capital of Texas.”

It is not just the Dallas-Fort Worth area that is attracting newcomers; the whole state has for several years been a popular place for relocation. U-Haul rankings put Texas at the top among states being moved to in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

In the years 2019 and 2020, the state came in second behind Florida and Tennessee, but 2021 saw Texas resume its lead position on U-Haul’s top growth states.

Among the factors that bring newcomers into the Lone Star State are its lack of a state income tax, lower cost of living and strong job market.

The No. 1 city this year among U-Haul destinations was Kissimmee-St. Cloud, Florida.
