Texas Theatre hosts unique event in April

Bruce-O-Rama, a two-part event hosted by Bruce Campbell, will take place at The Texas Theatre next month.

The first part of the evening’s event will be taken up by a trivia contest featuring pop culture topics such as sci-fi, gaming, horror, fantasy, and superheroes. Titled Last Fan Standing, each member of the audience will have the opportunity to participate. Some of those who give the highest number of correct answers in the shortest amount of time will be invited on stage with Campbell for the Final Face-Off. The Face-Off winner will be named the Last Fan Standing.

A short intermission following the game provides time for the stage to be cleared and fans to purchase memorabilia. A variety of venues allow items created by a poster printing service to be offered for sale, including promotional attire.

Prior to the second half of the event, Campbell will spend about a half hour on stage taking questions, relaying anecdotes, trading light-hearted insults, and dispensing random cash giveaways. Once Bruce has left the stage, the evening continues with the cult classic movie Army of Darkness, starring Bruce Campbell.

Opening in 1931 with a state-of-the-art sound and projection equipment, The Texas Theater was the first in Dallas to be built specifically for talking pictures, and was also the first to contain air conditioning.

Bruce-O-Rama will take place April 30 at 6:00 pm at The Texas Theatre, which is located in Dallas at 231 West Jefferson Boulevard.
