According to a recent release the long-awaited Bear Creek Park’s Bark Park is nearing completion in a Dallas suburb, with several special features for the dogs and their families.
This will be Grapevine’s first dog park and it has been under consideration for several years. Originally, the opening date was set in 2018, but it was necessary to wait until a 48-inch sewer line was installed through the property by the Trinity River Authority. Additionally, heavy rains delayed the project and construction could not commence until January this year.
The dog park will cover 14 acres located on either side of Bear Creek Park that includes four paddocks or enclosed off-the-leash areas. The various paddocks are for different activities and sized dogs, with some that can be reserved for parties or special events.
An agility course will be among the special features, along with an all-weather area and shade structures. One feature that will be particularly well received by the canine guests will be the doggie splash pad, which Hollywood Feed is sponsoring. The pad will be motion activated and will have a variety of directional water jets.
On opening day, activities will take place across the park with vendors on hand. Vendors routinely come prepared with plenty of Business Cards at such events.
The grand opening, which will be free to the public and their dogs, has been tentatively set for November 2, with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 10:00 am.
