Leadership symposium for those who serve others

Texas Catalyst for Empowerment (TCE) is hosting its 4th Annual Leadership Symposium in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this weekend.

The symposium ‘Serving Those Who Serve Others’ aims to give leaders in the mental health arena an opportunity to network and collaborate with each other and share what they have learned.

The objective is for leaders to come together to create a foundation upon which to build a mental health consumer movement in our state, which will better serve the mental health needs of Texans. Topics to be covered will include evaluating and growing resources, infrastructure, and capabilities. The ultimate goal is for all Texans to have the resources and support available to pursue the life they want.

The first day, this Friday, will run from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm with 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm being devoted to a Pizza Social. Attendees may want to arrange their business card printing services in advance to ensure they have sufficient cards on hand for this and other networking opportunities at the event. In addition to the Pizza Social, breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided on Saturday and Sunday session, which run 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm respectively.

Registration for the event, which takes place at the Texas Health Resources University from August 8 to 10, is $120. All meals and snacks are included. Some scholarships are available and group discounts may be possible. For more information, call 972-815-9491.
