The Adolphus Hotel is adding a new coffee shop, described as ‘Viennese-style’, where the emphasis will not be on speed but on the leisurely enjoyment of coffee, Austrian treats and pleasant company.
To be named Otto’s, the shop will make its espresso and coffee drinks from beans supplied by Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters. A limited number of food items, chosen for their “partnering ability” with coffee, will be available and will include sausage rolls, strudels, tarts, and cakes.
According to the website The Culture Trip, a Vienna coffee house can become a vital part of a community’s social experience. Patrons will encouraged to linger in the shop’s living room type atmosphere and soak up the charming ambiance.
Although the emphasis is on relaxation, it is likely that a certain amount of networking will take place and patrons will probably wish to ensure they have a supply of calling or Business Cards on hand.
A specific style can be attributed to a Viennese coffee house: newspaper tables, coffee served on silver trays, and marble tabletops. Adding to the atmosphere is often live music or readings.
A representative of the Adolphus Hotel has said that the opening of Otto’s is targeted for the end of March and will take up an area, once part of the lobby to the hotel entrance’s right.
