Farmers markets confirm 2021 schedule

Spring is coming despite the below freezing weather experienced by Dallas-Fort Worth this week, and a harbinger of spring, Good Local Markets, has announced the particulars of its 2021 schedule.

The farmers’ market organization has issued a release, explaining that the Lakewood Village Farmers Market, located at 6434 E. Mockingbird Ln., opens tomorrow (February 14) and will be held each Sunday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm through August 15.

Included in the release was information about the opening of White Rock Local Market, located at 9150 Garland Rd. The White Rock market will open on March 13 and continue every Saturday through December 18, 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. Flyer printing services are often used to promote ventures like these.

Casey Cutler, the executive director of Good Local Markets, said she was grateful that fresh food markets and farmers have been deemed “essential”, and assured customers safety precautions are being followed, including a space of at least 10 feet from one both to the next, sanitation stations, mask wearing, and enough space to practice social distancing.

All meat, vegetable, and eggs are produced locally, as well as all bread, pastries, pickles, honey and jams, specialty foods, and handmade crafts. All vendors selling at Good Local Markets are certified to be from within a 150-mile radius. No distributors or resellers are allowed, and representatives of Good Local visit every farm and ranch to verify that the food is locally and ethically produced.
