As of May 1, registration opened for the 47th BMW Dallas Marathon, with new races and a weekend race series added.
This year’s marathon will include a 5K and 10K competitive race the day prior to the usual full and half marathons and the SMU Cox School of Business Relay. The new races can be run by themselves or as part of the inaugural BMW Weekend Series. Local businesses frequently use races such as these as an opportunity to pass out Promotional Products to increase their name recognition.
Although the races do not take place until December, registering early can save participants money. Runners signing up early can pay the same price regardless of whether they are registering for the BMW Dallas Marathon or the Half Marathon. Registration will also be available for teams of five wishing to take part in the relay at $299 per team. As of June 1, early registration will close and the prices will go up.
The 5K and 10K races by themselves are each $39; however, for $149 those who have the heart can sign up for the BMW Weekend Series. Participants in the Series run either a 5K or 10K on Saturday, December 9 and then the full or half marathon on December 10. Those who finish their chosen race on each day will receive a BMW Weekend Series signature jacket and a bonus medal.
