Dallas-Fort Worth hot location for winter vacation

A report compiled by WalletHub for 2023 has listed Dallas-Fort Worth among the top 5 Best Winter Holiday Destinations for warm weather for the second year in a row.

The online personal finance company split 70 of the country’s biggest metropolitan areas into destinations of either “warm” or “cold” weather, and then evaluated them using 37 factors, including weather predictions, local costs, travel costs, and safety. Out of a possible score of 100, Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington garnered 63.69 points, earning a rank of No. 4 among warm weather destinations.

The No. 1 spot was the Las Vegas-Henderson-Paradise, Nevada metro area, followed by San Diego-Chula Vista-Carlsbad, California in the No. 2 spot, with the No. 3 ranking going to Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown, Texas.

Favorable information, such as the results of studies such as this one, is often sent to brochure printing services to be included in promotional material dispensed by a city's chambers of commerce.

“Cold” weather destinations were deemed to be those with less or equal to 46°F, with “warm” destinations on the other hand being those with higher than or equal to 57°F. Temperatures for the metro areas were based on their average December temperatures going back 50 years.

The Metroplex fared especially well in the report for travel cost and hassles, no doubt due to the extremely busy – yet nevertheless highly efficient – Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
