Dallas city manager to step down

At his request, T.C. Broadnax will no longer be the Dallas city manager effective June 3, after holding the position for seven years.

In a statement issued on February 21, Broadnax said:
“It has been my distinct honor and privilege to have served as Dallas City Manager for the last seven years. I am proud of what I have accomplished and am grateful for the support I received during my tenure.”

Broadnax has held the city manager position, which is the top administrative official position in Dallas, since 2017. Prior to coming here, he spent five years as Tacoma, Washington’s city manager, after doing a six-year stint as San Antonio’s assistant city manager. Before going to San Antonio he worked in Pompano Beach, Florida as the assistant city manager for 10 years.

Local governments frequently utilize the printing and mailing services of print shops.

Broadnax earned his undergraduate degree in Kansas at Washburn University, after which he went to the University of North Texas for his master’s degree in public administration.

No interim city manager has been announced as of yet. Council members addressed the issue of the position that will be empty as of June 3, saying they hope to fill the leadership void by working collaboratively until a new city manager can be hired. Broadnax has plans to spend his remaining time on the job working with the leadership team and city council to ensure a smooth transition.
