The Newport Winter Festival will be returning this month, offering music, food, and fun throughout the city. Residents of nearby Middletown will not want to miss this annual event.
There will be 150 events, experiences, and competitions from which to choose, the highlights of which include sipping presidential cocktails on President’s Day at Litchfield Distilleries, the 26th annual chili cookoff, and tribute acts to Jimmy Buffet and Tom Petty. Other musical performances will include an authentic tribute to The Eagles at the Wyndham Newport Hotel and the legendary Toe Jam Puppet Band geared for children at the Newport Marriott. The band promises storytelling, shadow puppetry, original songs, and lots of fun.
In addition to the chili cookoff at the Newport Harbor Island Resort, there will be the Newport Burger Bender, which is a competition for the best burger from participating restaurants throughout Bristol and Newport counties. Those who try the burgers can vote on their favorite and be entered to win one of the daily giveaways. There will also be plenty of programming for children, with a rainforest reptile show, a teddy bear story hour, a fun and regal afternoon at the OceanCliff Castle on Ridge Road, and a mad science magic show on the schedule.
The Newport Winter Festival will take place from Friday, February 17 through Sunday, February 26.
