A new Plumby’s restaurant will be opening in the former grange building in Middletown.
Owners and brothers, Ralph Plumb III and Matt Plumb, purchased the property in June 2019 for $900,000. The building spans 5,200 square feet on an acre of land. Work on the renovation of the building has been taking place over the past nine months and has received all the necessary approvals from the town and passed inspections.
Ralph said that the restaurant will be serving the same kind of food that was served at their former restaurant at Brick Alley. He said people will order at the counter and will have a selection of wings, nachos, burgers, and salads in a very casual atmosphere. Alcoholic beverages will be served, including the house specialties of frozen mudslides, adult spiked-shakes, and blackberry sangria. The dining room will have four televisions with a powerful sound system.
Print shops are often hired to create various advertising and promotional materials announcing the opening of such establishments.
Ralph added that the indoor space is sufficiently large, so that guests will not be crowded. Currently, he does not plan on having a grand opening or live entertainment in the near future. However, he did express his excitement about the new Neon Marketplace gas station that recently opened across the street, and its being a welcome addition to the area.
