New bank breaks ground in Middletown

Centreville Bank has broken ground for its first full-service branch in Middletown. The bank will be on East Main Road and is the 23rd location of the bank.

Customers are already served by the bank in Middletown with its loan production office on Aquidneck Avenue and its branch on Thames Street in Newport.

Features of this new location will include drive-up ATM and teller lanes, a state-of-the-art banking center, a welcoming lobby designed with the customer in mind, and private offices for financial consultations. Such upcoming locations of a bank can benefit from brochure printing to provide more details about services that will be offered.

Chief Lending Officer and Executive Vice President, Lee Merrill, said that this groundbreaking for the bank’s second location on Aquidneck Island marks a milestone in the history of the bank. Merrill added that this branch is one of five branches that the bank is planning to open this year and he expressed his excitement about continuing the bank’s expansion with this new branch in Middletown.

President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Centreville Bank, Hal Horvat, said that Centreville Bank is celebrating 197 years in Rhode Island. He added that opening a branch from the ground up reflects the commitment of the bank to being a trusted financial partner for customers on Aquidneck Island and to long term growth.

The bank is expected to open by late fall.
