The Outstanding Teen competition of Miss Rhode Island, and Miss Rhode Island 2019, recently took place in Providence, where Molly Andrade of Middletown took the crown.
As a winner of Miss Rhode Island, Andrade received many prizes, including an official sash and crown, a full year of makeup and hair services, personal training, a $5,000 scholarship, and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Miss America competition.
Andrade attends Endicott College in Massachusetts and is a graduate of Middletown High School. She will be representing the state in the Miss America competition in Atlantic City. Achievements such as this one are often made known throughout the community by means of poster printing and other printed materials.
Andrade took part in the Miss Rhode Island competition last year and won the award for Highest Ad Sales, and the Miss Rhode Island Miracle Maker Award for 2018. For this, she earned a pair of tickets to the final night of the Miss America 2019 competition. Her talent was Irish step dancing and her platform was empowering women through self-defense.
The 2019 Miss America competition will take place in Atlantic City and air on ABC on September 9. Andrade is expected to attend the final competition.
Miss Rhode Island 2018 was Cranston’s Alexandra Coppa, and she received her crown in Newport at the Casino Theatre.
