Newport Pickleball will soon be coming to Middletown.
Newport Pickleball will replace Island Cinemas 10, which closed last month. Chuck Irving and John Theberge are co-owners of the venue. They said that the new indoor courts will transform the thriving pickleball and recreation community in the region. They added that there will be 11 indoor courts with noise control, a lounge area that will provide refreshments, and a dedicated space for private events.
Such planned venues often turn to brochure printing to offer more details on amenities, planned hours, and costs.
Theberge expressed his thrill at being able to bring this world-class pickleball facility to the Middletown area. He added that the goal is to create a destination on the island where players of pickleball can come together throughout the year to enjoy this sport, which is very popular and appeals to those of all ages. The aim is to create lasting connections through the entertainment and social events that they plan to offer.
Irving said that this will be more than a venue for sports. He said that the plan is for this to be a place where people can gather, stay active, and have fun and enhance the local options for entertainment.
Newport Pickleball is expected to open this summer. The grand opening event will include food trucks, exhibitions, group clinics, camps for youth and kids, friendly matches, and other activities.
