The 5th annual Newport Daffodil Days festival is taking place over nine days next month. The event is held to welcome the blooming of the hundreds of thousands of the yellow flowers in the area.
There will be a wide variety of events taking place over the course of the festival in various locations around the Newport area.
The first day of the festival is set to feature the Daffy Dogs on Parade at Queen Ann Square. Dogs will compete for Daffiest Dressed Doggie.
The Dandy Spring Fling takes place a couple of days later. This fundraising reception will be held at The Chanler on April 16 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks and musical entertainment. Tickets are $30.
Another event will be the Earth Day Celebration at Miantonomi Park in Middletown on April 21 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. Guests will enjoy a barbecue, a ballet performance and a tree planting.
Other events will be the Daffodil Garden party at Bellevue House, with a cash bar, live music and ballet, and a classic car parade.
