The 42nd annual Harvest Fair is taking place in Middletown next month for two days.
As always, the fair promises to offer activities that will appeal to the entire family. Guests can ride the ‘Mabel Express’ barrel train, visit the ‘Monkey Bridge’, and have fun in the mud pit. There will be midway rides and games, a children’s craft tent, and a scarecrow contest.
Some of those who will be performing at this year's fair include the Newport Children’s Theatre, Mary King, Christopher “Kavi” Carbone, and Skip Daniels Magic.
There are also set to be several home and garden competitions in categories like best single fruit, best apple pie, Jack-o-lantern, and best single rose. In addition, approximately 60 vendors will be on hand to sell a variety of homemade arts and crafts items.
Last but not least, the community tent will feature various nonprofit organizations that will provide information about their programs and services. They will also be handing out freebies, hosting contests and offering take-home crafts activities.
Middletown families will surely want to attend at least one day of the fair. To ensure as many people know about it as possible, organizers may distribute Flyers in the community.
The Harvest Fair will be held at the Norman Bird Sanctuary from October 1 to 2. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Call 401-846-2577 for the latest information.
