The 27th annual Newport Winter Festival is taking place for a week next month.
Events taking place during the week that should appeal to almost every taste and budget, especially since there are expected to be more than 150 of them happening in the city and surrounding areas. These will include ice sculpting demonstrations, concerts from tribute bands such as Changes in Latitude (Jimmy Buffett) and Another Tequila Sunrise (The Eagles), and food for purchase.
On February 14, the Samuel Adams Chili Cook Off will be held at the Newport Harbor Hotel, with tickets priced at $10 for adults and $3 for children.
The Children's Fair, on Goat Island, is being held over two days beginning February 15. It is set to feature face painting, music, arts and crafts and even visits from reptiles. Ticket prices are $7.
Local funny bones can look forward to a comedy performance by Kevin Meaney and Kerri Louise on February 20. It will take place at the Hyatt Regency Goat Island beginning at 8:30 pm. Tickets range in price from $25 to $60.
