What's Happening in Stroudsburg, PA…

A workshop has been planned for Stroudsburg for those who get their drinking water from wells, or who use septic tanks for their wastewater.

The class, which has been organized by the Penn State Cooperative extension, will teach home and property owners the information they need to keep their water supplies safe. They will learn about testing and treating their home water supply, as well as how to inspect and maintain their septic system. This will allow them to keep not only their own water clean, but also that of their neighbors and community.

There is no charge to attend the workshop, but those who wish to take part are asked to preregister, and the first 30 who do so will be given a free copy of the booklet ‘A Guide to Private Water Systems in PA’. A booklet printing company can produce these, along with any other materials that may be useful to those who participate, Free drinking water testing will also be offered to the first 60 who sign up.

Funding has been provided for the seminars through the Master Well owner Network and the Pennsylvania Ground Water Association and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
