The Sherman Theater is hosting the Poconos Punk Rock Flea Market in Stroudsburg this winter.
The event will feature live music and a selection of vendors the organizers describe as eclectic, edgy and unique. These businesses sell items intended to appeal to punk and alternative music fans. These include handcrafted items, vintage clothing, vinyl, stickers, jewelry and band T-Shirts. There will also be tattoo artists in the sky box area. Drinks and concessions will be available for purchase throughout the event.
Tickets are available on the theater’s website in advance or at the door. The price is $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the market, plus processing fees. Sherman Theater members do not need to pay the extra fees. Attendees can also purchase event bundles, which include entry to the market 30 minutes early, a T-shirt and a souvenir lanyard, for $40. Organizers often use graphic design experts to create event T-shirts.
Performers will include Suburban Downgrade, Disposable, Spiky Tops and Adrift featuring Lenny Kaye. The full lineup is available on the Sherman Theater’s website. Businesses interested in being vendors can also apply online. Vendor fees range from $30 to $300, depending on the booth location and the type of business.
The Poconos Punk Rock Flea Market will take place on Saturday, January 17, starting at 2 pm at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg.
