Friends of Quiet Valley is hosting a set of holiday crafting workshops in Stroudsburg this fall.
The day will begin with 30 minutes for refreshments and checking in. Attendees can choose from two full-day workshops and multiple combinations of morning and afternoon sessions. During full-day sessions, participants can learn to make a Christmas “penny” tree, which features felted wool circles on a backing, or to bake traditional Pennsylvania Dutch apple dumplings and a no-knead English muffin bread.
Those interested in learning two crafting techniques can combine a morning and afternoon session. Morning session options are coasters made from pressed flowers set in epoxy resin and painted wine bottle lights, which feature a birdhouse scene. Afternoon sessions are felted wool evergreens and wall art made with wire and dried flowers. The workshops are beginner-friendly and do not require any experience.
Tickets range from $40 to $95. Materials are included, so the price will depend on the supplies required. Discounts are available for Quiet Valley members. All tickets include a homemade lunch, which will be bread, soup, and dessert. Space is limited, so those interested in attending should purchase their tickets soon. Local historic sites often use flyer printing services to promote their seasonal events.
The Friends of Quiet Valley Annual Holiday Workshops will be on Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, at Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm in Stroudsburg.
