East Stroudsburg to host tree lighting celebration

The Eastburg Community Alliance and the Pocono Chamber of Commerce are partnering to host this year’s East Stroudsburg Tree Lighting event at the start of December.

The tree, which was donated by the Baumgartner Family and decorated by Dunkleburger Tree Service, will be illuminated at 7:00 pm. Santa will arrive at the event on an East Stroudsburg fire truck and will be available for visits throughout the evening. A conductor will be handing out golden tickets to children waiting in line. Parents can take photos of their kids with Santa, and kids will receive holiday-themed coloring books while supplies last.

There will also be a craft area for kids. Participants can make ornaments and other Christmas-themed items. Baked goods, coffee, and hot cocoa from Taste 154 will be served, and fire pits will be set up to keep attendees warm during the outdoor event. Local school bands and choirs, including Fusia Dance and the East Stroudsburg Band, will perform seasonal classics and other upbeat music. Robin Schneider will also sing.

The tree lighting is free to attend, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP on Facebook. Several local businesses are sponsoring the celebration. Towns often use printing services to create signs to recognize their sponsors at this type of event.

The East Stroudsburg Tree Lighting will take place on Monday, December 1, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm behind the Dansbury Depot.
