The Pocono Chamber of Commerce and the Pocono Mountains Economic Development Corporation are partnering to host a business financing workshop next month.
The event is intended to help those interested in starting or growing a business to understand funding opportunities and other useful resources. All the presenters represent organizations that provide these resources. For example, MetroAction is a nonprofit that offers counseling and lending services for small businesses in northeastern Pennsylvania, while NEPA Alliance helps business owners apply for state and federal grants.
Speakers will provide practical information about lending programs and local support for small businesses. The lineup will include Pocono Mountains Economic Development President Michelle Bisbing, MetroAction Small Business and Community Development Specialist Alicia Tompkins, and the Department of Community and Economic Development Regional Director Fadia Halma. NEPA Alliance VP Business Development Service Division Steve Ursich and VP Community and Economic Development Kurt Bauman will also speak.
Attendees can register on the Chamber’s website. The cost is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. The Pocono Chamber’s members include professionals and business owners from Stroudsburg and other towns in the region. Participants often use business card printing services to prepare for networking at this type of event.
The Business Finance Workshop will be on Tuesday, June 2 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, at the Pocono Campus of Northampton Community College.
