Fall is here once again, and that means that it’s time for the annual leaf collection in Stroudsburg.

The dates on which the fallen leaves will be picked up run from October through November, and the borough has made some requests for residents of the community who plan to take advantage of this service.

Homeowners are asked to rake the leaves into piles, which they can then place on the edge of their property where they can be picked up easily by the collection vehicles. They are also requested to make sure that they do not block storm drains or obstruct sidewalks. Debris such as large branches, trimmings from shrubs, and garbage will not be accepted, as they will clog up the machinery that will be used.

Any streets or roads that have alternate side parking will have two pickup days during the week. On the designated days, the crews will do one side, and then the next day, they will do the other. This is being offered by the Stroudsburg Public Works Department, which has other special dates for other Forms of household waste.
