Stroudsburg trail association to host hiking weekend

The Keystone Trails Association (KTA) is lacing up its hiking Books for a weekend in Stroudsburg this April.

The weekend will include group hikes, breakfasts and dinners, and educational programs. Participants are welcome to attend the entire weekend or join for just one of the days of hiking. Hikes will range from about two to ten miles and will be led by experienced guides who are familiar with the trails. The Friday evening program will discuss the 100-year history of the Appalachian Trail, and the Saturday evening program will cover the Pocono Black Bear program.

Registration is available now on the KTA website. Lodging will be available at Twin Pines Camp, Conference and Retreat Center. Tent camping costs $125 per adult, and bunk beds in a shared room cost $155. Individual hotel rooms are now sold out. The fee for day hikers is $15. Organizations often use flyer printing services to promote their events.

Details about the planned hikes are available on the KTA website, including the length, difficulty and distance from Twin Pines, as well as an idea of what type of scenery to expect. Hikes are usually between a 15- and 45-minute drive from the retreat center. Attendees should choose the appropriate options for their fitness and experience levels.

Spring Hiking Weekend 2024 will take place from Friday, April 19 to Sunday, April 21 at Twin Pines Center in Stroudsburg.
