What's Happening in Stroudsburg, PA…

The Monroe County Historical Association’s Stroud Mansion Museum and Library is now hosting walking tours of historic Stroudsburg.

Tours will be led by well-trained guides familiar with Stroudsburg’s history. They will include both prominent buildings and smaller sites that residents may not be familiar with. The tours are intended as a way for residents and visitors to learn about Stroudsburg’s history while the Stroud Mansion Museum is closed for improvements. Towns often use flyer printing services to promote their public events.

Those planning to participate should sign up for a tour in advance. Tours are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays through the end of the year. The cost is $10 per adult, $8 per senior aged 65 or older, $5 for children aged seven to 17, and free for children six and younger. Attendees can reserve their spots by calling the Historical Association at 570-421-7703.

Tours will meet at the blue awning of the Stroud Mansion Museum’s temporary location at 748 Main Street. The museum is currently closed while the Historical Association builds a new Heritage Center that will be connected to the original 18th-Century building. The Heritage Center project will create more space for public events and programs, make the space more accessible, and add climate-controlled storage spaces for historical archives and items.

Tours will begin at 2:00 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 10:30 am on Thursdays now through December 28.
