The Downtown Stroudsburg Business Association is celebrating Halloween with a month-long scavenger hunt and community celebration.
Participating businesses in downtown Stroudsburg will put up spooky decorations, and the Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation Commission will run a clue-based scavenger hunt throughout October. Those interested in participating should check the Recreation Commission’s website for updates.
The main Halloween celebration will take place in Courthouse Square on the last Saturday of the month, starting after the Farmers Market. At 1:00 pm, children of all ages with an accompanying parent can paint a pumpkin to take home. The Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center will present “Creatures of the Night” from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This presentation will feature some of the nocturnal animals the Center works with.
From 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, participating businesses on Main Street and some other streets will be giving out candy in a trick-or-treating-style event. Businesses often use poster printing services to advertise their participation in this type of community celebration. Finally, Mark Mysterrio & Miss Direction will perform a magic show in Courthouse Square. The Stroudsburg Fire Company will also be running an open house from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The Spooky Stroudsburg event will take place on Saturday, October 28, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm in downtown Stroudsburg.
