Stroudsburg is kicking off its winter holiday celebrations with a Christmas Tree Lighting during the Thanksgiving weekend.
The Downtown Stroudsburg Business Association is hosting the annual celebration outdoors in Stroudsburg’s Courthouse Square. The event will include food and beverages, live music and a visit from Santa. The tree will be illuminated at around 6:20 pm, and Santa will arrive on a fire truck shortly after that. After the tree lighting and Santa’s arrival, attendees will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa in front of the tree. The musical performances will continue throughout the evening.
The tree lighting is free to attend, and the photo session with Santa is free as well. Refreshments will be available to purchase. Parking in Downtown Stroudsburg is metered and costs $0.50 per hour, but is free after 6:00 pm. Attendees can pay at the meter with coins or cards or through the mPay2Park mobile app. Those planning to attend should expect a large crowd. The tree lighting is a popular event with the Stroudsburg community, drawing more than 2,000 guests last year. Towns often use poster printing services to promote this type of local event.
The Downtown Stroudsburg Christmas Tree Lighting will take place on Friday, November 25, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in Courthouse Square in Downtown Stroudsburg.
