The Quiet Valley Harvest Festival will take place in early October.
Stroudsburg’s Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm will hold its fall festival for the 48th year. The festival will include a wide variety of harvest season activities that were common in the 1800s. Visitors will be able to learn about heritage crafts, trades and traditional cooking and food processing techniques through live demonstrations. These activities include leather work, spinning and weaving, candle making and tanning. Attendees will also be able to see presentations in the one-room schoolhouse, visit a Civil War encampment, watch traditional folk entertainment, and enjoy a variety of refreshments.
The event is appropriate for all ages and will include wagon rides and other activities specifically catering to children. Tickets cost $16 for adults and $8 for children in advance, and $18 and $10 at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased on the Quiet Valley website. The festival organizers recommend that attendees allow three to four hours to see everything the festival has to offer and that they wear closed-toed shoes to be comfortable in the farm setting. Living history sites often use brochure printing services to share historical details with visitors.
The Harvest Festival will take place on Saturday, October 8, and Sunday, October 9, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm.
