The Stroudsburg Seventh Day Adventist Community and Wellness Center has recently been opened to assist citizens in the area with unmet healthcare needs.
The building is located at 2023 W. Main Street. Poster printing in Stroudsburg could be used to raise local awareness of the services available at the site.
At the event to mark the opening of the facility, different speakers encouraged the local community to make use of the programs set to be delivered. Local officials and health professionals came together to make the appeal.
Dr. Leroy Nickles, the director of an emergency department at Pocono Medical Center, has told the Pocono Record:
"Many people aren't aware of facilities like this that are free of charge and right in their own back yard.”
The new center will be open to locals on Wednesday mornings. A healthy lifestyle will be encouraged by the professionals who volunteer to work in the various sessions, according to nurse Herline Raphael. Health education will be delivered, but practical assistance will also be on offer.
Food, household accessories, and clothing will be provided to people who may need them. Donations of a variety of items will be requested from the public. The food will be accessible every two weeks, on Wednesday afternoons. Members of the church have past experience of collecting clothes, but in the past their work has been hindered by insufficient storage space.
