Stroudsburg area trail group to run fundraiser

The Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation Commission (SROSRC) is holding a fundraising run and walk event in East Stroudsburg this June.

The Levee Loop Trail Race and Fitness Walk is open to participants of any skill level. The 2.6-mile walk route takes participants over even terrain, which will be a mix of grass and gravel paths. The longer 4.5-mile running route starts in Dansbury Park and goes through Creekview Park and Stokes Mill Park. Some portions of the trail between Creekview Park and Stokes Mill Park are uneven. The event organizers suggest that runners walk this section ahead of time to be prepared for the rougher trail conditions.

The race costs $30 per person for both walkers and runners. Sign-in will begin at 7:30 am. The walk will start at 8:00 am, and the timed race will start at 8:30 am. The event will be held rain or shine. Those interested can sign up on the SROSRC website. Race participants will receive commemorative T-Shirts. Event organizers often work with Logo Design experts to create these shirts. All proceeds will support greenways and trail systems in the Stroudsburg area.

The Levee Loop Trail Race and Fitness Walk will take place on Saturday, June 3, starting from the soccer field at Dansbury Park. Check-in starts at 7:30 am.
