St. Patricks Day Parade to return to Stroudsburg

The Pocono Irish American Club will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Stroudsburg.

Stroudsburg’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, which is one of the most prominent in Pennsylvania, is expected to go forward after being canceled for the past two years due to pandemic safety restrictions. The parade route covers just less than two miles, starting at Stroudsburg High School and leading through downtown to the Municipal Building on Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg. Attendees can watch from any point along this route.

The parade will feature marching bands, non-profit organizations, local politicians and representatives from local businesses. Leading the parade will be a grand marshal selected from the community as someone who embodies the good works of St. Patrick. Local restaurants along the parade route often serve food outside for parade attendees, who are encouraged to explore downtown Stroudsburg before and after the celebration. Community organizations often use poster printing services to promote this type of event.

The Pocono Irish American Club is a membership-based organization dedicated to upholding and celebrating Irish culture. In addition to the parade and other annual community events, the group meets monthly at Siamsa, Stroudsburg’s Irish pub.

The parade will start at 1:30 pm on Sunday, March 20, outside of Stroudsburg High School. It is free to attend.
