Spooky celebration to return to Stroudsburg

Stroudsburg is hosting its annual Spooky Stroudsburg Halloween festival this fall.

The free festival will include a variety of fall and Halloween-themed activities for kids of all ages. Parents need to accompany children under 12.

Between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, attendees can make balloon animals, decorate pumpkins, play in a corn pit, and take photos with spooky sculptures and other photo backdrops. The Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center is hosting an exhibit featuring local animals at 1:30 pm.

From 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, some shops on and near Main Street will be giving out candy. Shops will have Signs in their windows indicating their participation. Event organizers often use poster printing services to create this type of sign. At 5:00 pm, Gigi Dance Company, a local dance school, will perform.

The Stroud Regional Open Space and Recreation Commission (SROSRC) is also hosting a Spooky Scavenger Hunt throughout October. Participants will need to solve prompts to collect clues located across downtown Stroudsburg. All ages are welcome to participate, and those who find the answer can enter for a prize. The scavenger hunt should take about an hour and a half to complete. Additional details will be posted on the SROSRC’s website when the event begins on October 1.

Spooky Stroudsburg will take place on Saturday, October 26 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Courthouse Square.
