Special East Stroudsburg art exhibit closes tomorrow

A Senior Seminar and Portfolio in Art Student Exhibition at the Madelon Powers Gallery of East Stroudsburg University is featuring the portfolios and art works of advanced students in the art+design department of the university.

As part of an exhibition that opened on April 29, there is also work by selected students and those who have finished independent study projects from other art+design classes.

The Excellence in the Arts awards for 2019 will be presented at a reception for the artists. The Cecilia S. Cohen Award for Excellence in Art History and the Dr. Irene Mitchel Three Sisters Endowed Art Scholarship will also be presented.

Special exhibits and events such as this often use poster printing to promote themselves around college campuses and throughout the community.

Kelliann Brown of Bogota, New Jersey, Timothy Morrell of Staatsburg, New York, East Stroudsburg’s Andreas Alomar, and Ellen Rosenfield of Bethlehem are among the senior integrated arts+design majors who are participating in the exhibit.

Alaina Warner of Rockaway, New Jersey, who is a junior in the program, and John Maffei of Milford and East Stroudsburg’s Isis Hodge, who are juniors in the integrated art+design program, also have their works on display.

The exhibition runs until tomorrow, May 8. The gallery is open from 4:00 to 6:00 pm today and 11:00 am to 7:00 pm tomorrow.
