Pennsylvania graduate program given continued accreditation

The graduate communication sciences and disorders program at East Stroudsburg University (ESU) is now accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) for another eight years.

This will cover the college’s programs in speech-language pathology and audiology. The accreditation is based on the college’s compliance with current standards that address academic and clinical curricula, faculty and students, program resources and assessment. Colleges such as ESU seek this accreditation voluntarily for their master’s degrees in speech-language pathology that have been created for graduates entering the profession. The accreditation signifies that the education program of ESU complies with the CAA standards for accreditation.

Colleges such as ESU often look to local Print shops to Print more information with further details about such programs and the significance of accreditation.

Graduate coordinator for the department of communication sciences and disorders and associate professor, LuAnn Batson-Magnuson, Ph.D., said that the CAA is recognized by the Secretary of the United States Department of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as an accrediting agency for speech language pathology programs. Batson-Magnuson added that accreditation by the CAA is an external validation of the excellence of the program at ESU and ensures employers that graduates of the program have the requisite skills and knowledge.

The Master of Science education program in communication disorders and sciences at ESU is accredited through April 20, 2029.
