Long has been the vice president of administration and finance at ESU for the past seven years. Prior to his tenure at ESU, he worked at Cheyney and Kutztown Universities as well as at universities in DeVry and Toledo.

Cindy Shapira, Chair of the Board of Governors, said that the University is fortunate to have Long to be its guide during this time of transition and to build on the growth which has been built by the University over the past several years. She added that he has the experience and qualities of leadership needed by the position and will bring stability and steadiness that are needed at this time. Chancellor Dan Greenstein remarked that Long’s seven years on campus and his record of accomplishments will enable him to bring a bright future for the students, faculty, and staff of the university.

Long will start his position at ESU on Friday July 31 and will serve as interim president until the conclusion of a national search for a permanent president.
