The Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center in Stroudsburg is dedicated to teaching the public about nature, and is holding three events next month towards that aim.
The Center is offering a fly fishing course, which will be taught by Scott Cesari. A three-week program, those who are interested in participating must register before January 7.
A one-day event that is coming up early in January is ‘Go Outside Day’. Presented in collaboration with Get Outdoors PA, guests will take part in hosted tours of the many trails in the 166-acre preserve and will learn how nature survives through the winter months.
One final January event will be the ‘Owl Prowl’, hosted by Brian Hardiman. Guests will learn all about the nocturnal birds and look for those that make their home on the preserve.
Stroudsburg Stationery printers sometimes provide printed materials such as Brochures to facilities like the Center, and these materials are then distributed to visitors.
The fly fishing course costs $15 and runs from January 18 to 24 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm each session. ‘Go Outside Day’ is taking place on January 10 and the ‘Owl Prowl’ is being held on January 17, with both taking place from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
