Currently on display at the Rangoli Metro Art Center in Bengaluru, India is a design and art installation created by students and faculty from East Stroudsburg University (ESU). This is a special exhibit that is part of the 150th anniversary celebration the International Year of the Periodic Table.
Announcements of such extraordinary exhibits can be made known throughout the college community through poster printing.
The interpretation of the periodic table was first created at ESU in the spring semester of 2012 as part of a “Design for Communication” course. For four years it was on display in the Hoeffner Science and Technology Center at the university. A course on letterforms saw the updating of some of the elements in 2017. Associate professor of art and design David Mazure taught both courses. A replica of the installation was printed and produced in India to become part of other homages to the periodic table.
Mazure said that the goal of the project was to bring together the sciences and the arts and he believed that it was successful in doing so. He added that his students were extremely happy when they learned that their work would be on display in India. Their resumes and portfolios can reflect this unique international experience.
The show will be running through the middle of the month.
