A training grant of $295,036 has been awarded to the office of Career and Workforce Development at East Stroudsburg University (ESU) for the upcoming year. This money will enable the office to provide workforce training through the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA).
Print shops can be hired to provide more detailed information about such funding and the application process.
Qualifying companies are provided with funds from the WEDnetPA Program so that their employees can be trained in several skills. The companies are given up to $1,200 per eligible employee for technology skills and up to $600 per eligible employee in essential skills. A total of $50,000 can be given to a company for training in technical skills and $75,000 for training in essential skills. The businesses to which these funds are awarded are primarily in the fields of information technology, healthcare, and manufacturing.
WEDnetPA partner and assistant director of the office of career and workforce development at ESU, Daria Wielebinski, commented that an investment in training provides the foundation for a skilled workforce in any company. She added that those companies who are interested in applying for these funds are encouraged to do so in order to receive a portion of this money. ESU is certified by WEDnetPA as a partner and is authorized to apply for funding on behalf of any interested company.
