East Stroudsburg University will be offering a post baccalaureate certificate in professional Spanish beginning this fall.
The certificate will require taking 12 credits and will be offered online.
Professionals who are bilingual in both English and Spanish will be offered the opportunity to increase their competency in both written and spoken Spanish communication. The Certificate in Professional Spanish will focus on two sectors—business and healthcare. Additional cultural competency will be provided in the coursework through studies of diverse Spanish-speaking societies and their cultures. Brochure printing is often used to provide more details on the admissions process and the required courses for such certificates.
Among the skills students will have once they complete the post baccalaureate certificate are:
• The ability to incorporate Spanish terminology when writing or speaking about several key sectors, including business, healthcare, and other areas relevant to the student’s professional life
• The ability to apply the communicative and cultural norms for dialog in Hispanic workplaces where there are vendors and consumers of products and services, healthcare providers, and patients.
• The ability to effectively communicate through written documents and in conversation using standard structures of Spanish
Employers can be presented with this certificate by the students to demonstrate their strong skills in using Spanish in the workforce, as Spanish continues to grow as an important language in the professional community.
