The 12th South Side Soup Contest is taking place this month in Pittsburgh, presented by the Brashear Association and the South Side Chamber of Commerce, but dilly-dalliers who have yet to buy their tickets have already missed out.
In what might be a record, general admission tickets sold out within less than an hour. However, VIP tickets are still available for $100 each. These tickets include a meet-and-greet reception with Rick Sebak at the Champagne City Theatre, and guests will have an exclusive soup tasting, receive a free baguette, and get a swag bag filled with coupons and an official T-shirt. For those not at the reception, T-Shirts are also available for purchase for $15.
In total, 26 restaurants will be participating in the contest and soup will be served in various South Side locations. The soup makers will be competing for awards including Best Soup, Most Unique, and Best Vegetarian, while those who serve it will be in the running for the Best Host award. The public is invited to bring food donations for the Brashear Food Pantry.
It is likely that some of the venues that are serving soup samples will be investing in banner printing services from a favorite Pittsburgh printing company to draw attention to the contest.
The South Side Soup Contest will take place in the East Carson Street business district on February 20 from 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm. Contact the South Side Chamber of Commerce at 412-431-2236 for the latest information.Get a Free Quote for T-Shirts
