Pittsburgh’s South Side Park is set to welcome a festival that will feature some special furry VIPs.
The location will be hosting Goat Fest, which will be a celebration that will introduce the public to the efforts being made to restore the site so that it will be ecologically healthy. A free shuttle service will be available that takes the participants from the parking area at 21st Street and Josephine, and most of the activities will be on offer at the Arlington Ball Field.
The occasion will offer an opportunity to see goats engage in environmental remediation by consuming invasive plants, leaving more room for native species. The function has been organized by South Side Park volunteers, and the monies raised will be used to support its projects. Attendees will be treated to time in a petting zoo, live entertainment, food trucks, a pop-up market and special fun just for the kids. Bonsai make-and-takes and an optional tree planting experience are also on the agenda.
For community celebrations, a banner printing company will be pleased to supply materials that add to the festive atmosphere. As these can be made from recycled materials and may be deployed over and over, they represent an environmentally friendly option.
The 2023 Goat Fest will be bringing some four-legged fun to South Side Park on July 29. It will run from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
