Pittsburgh Polishes up with yearly celebration

Pittsburgh Polishfest '14 is taking place this November, and this year's theme is ‘Create a Polish Harvest and Country Market’.

It is a presentation of the Pittsburgh Polish American Community. Proceeds go to the University of Pittsburgh Polish Room Scholarship Fund.

Visitors will enjoy all sorts of exhibits themed around the European country, such as hand-painted Polish Easter eggs and pierogi making. There will be people in traditional costumes, dance and music performances, and cultural displays. There are set to be live barnyard animals for the children to pet, Polish folk and art demonstrations, and hands-on activities. Guests can even have their fortunes read. Food and beverages will be available for purchased, including pastries.

Among the performers appearing at this year's festival are Radoslaw Fizek, the Living Traditions Folk Dance Ensemble, and the Polka King and Queen of Western Pennsylvania. Everyone who attends is sure to get a real dose of Polish culture and come away with new understanding.

To advertise this upcoming event, organizers might invest in services from Pittsburgh postcard printing firms. Postcards are inexpensive to produce and easy to mail.

The Pittsburgh Polishfest is being held at the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning on November 9 from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Admission is free. For more information on planned activities at the festival, call 814-969-5490.
