A Pittsburgh event will be taking sustainability to heart, and will give people a chance to pass along household goods and other materials they no longer want to someone who can make good use of them.
More communities are discovering the benefits that go along with sustainability, and finding ways to repurpose unwanted items can be a big part of the equation. Repair the World Workshop has organized an event that will put a spin on a typical swap meet. Donations can be dropped off at the workshop for sorting, and on the day of the Spring Sustainability Swaperoo, they will be made available to the public.
On ‘Swaperoo Day’, the doors will open to the public at 10:00 am. Attendees will be welcome to bring along a reusable bag to fill with any items they feel they can make use of. When the day is over, volunteers will be needed to help distribute donations to a variety of sites throughout the city.
The planners of this Earth-friendly event noted that the location is ADA Accessible, and all are welcome. Reusable roll up Banners and other signage can fit in perfectly with the overall sustainable theme of this sort of function, and they can be readily sourced from a local printing services company.
Repair the World Workshop will be hosting its sustainability swap on June 2. Admission is free of charge.
