Annual event to kick off craft show season

The 16th annual Greater Pittsburgh Arts and Crafts Spring Fever Festival is now less than a month away.

With more 180 booths set to feature at the show, arts and crafts vendors will be selling all manner of items including handmade jewelry, clothing, accessories, ceramics, pottery, and works of art. In addition, several local companies will be selling prepackaged foods.

Parking is free for this event and an online discount coupon of 50ยข can be printed out and redeemed at the gate.

Shows like this are an opportunity for local artisans to introduce their items to the public and to meet up with their peers. It is likely that many of the vendors will be demonstrating how they do their craft.

At shows like this, vendors often work with local postcard printing companies to create a large format business card. That way, visitors from all over, including nearby North Versailles, can have an example of the art in a picture.

The Greater Pittsburgh Arts and Crafts Spring Fever Festival will be taking place at the Monroeville Convention Center from March 20 to 22, beginning at 10:00 am each day. Tickets are $5.50 for adults, $5 for seniors and $1 for children between the ages of 6 and 12. To find out more about the event, call 724-863-4577.
