Winter can be tough for those who have nowhere to call home, but a Doylestown initiative will help to bring them in from the cold.
The Code Blue Homeless Shelters program will soon be up and running for another winter, and it is being run by the Coalition to Shelter the Homeless. A call has gone out to the community seeking those with a willing heart and helping hands, and training is available.
The initiative runs from December 1st to March 31st, and completing the training session is mandatory for volunteers. The participants will learn about shelter operations and procedures, as well as what services they have to offer, and the activity will run for approximately one half hours. Anyone interested in taking part in the driver instruction will be able to do so immediately afterwards. An on-line opportunity is available to anyone who would like to help but can’t attend on the scheduled dates.
Volunteers are often the lifeblood of a not for profit group, helping to deliver its programming and resources. Organizations may thank them for their generous spirit and kind heart by presenting them with Corporate Gifts and certificates prepared by Stationery printers during special volunteer appreciation events.
The Code Blue training dates are scheduled for December 3rd at the Doylestown Twp. Parks and Recreation Center, and it will be repeated on January 10th at the BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Church. The organizer’s website offers more details.
