The JDRF, formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, raises funds to fight Type 1 Diabetes and advocates for those who are suffering from the disease. Since it’s inception over 40 years ago, the JDRF has donated over $1.6 billion to Diabetes research; 80% of all donations go toward research. According to Yvonne Miller of the JDRF:

Over 30,000 adults and children are diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes each year. The Walk to Cure Diabetes “is fun for families and builds camaraderie among company employees. Above all, it's an event you will feel good about being a part of!” Many companies form teams to take part in the walk, thus earning more money for the cause.
