Local pastry chef to appear on Food Network

Although plenty of people think social media is a waste of time, for others, social media can create opportunities.

Marqessa Gesualdi, a pastry chef from Wayne, near Bala Cynwyd, saw the benefits of using social media firsthand. She posted a picture of a croquembouche, a fancy French wedding cake, on her Instagram account.

Soon afterward, she was contacted by a producer from the Food Network, who asked if she'd like to be a participant in the Spring Baking Championship.

Gesualdi agreed and the rest is history. Speaking to the Main Line Times, she said,

"That was it, it was that easy. The opportunity presented itself and it fell into my lap.”

The competition airs next week on March 18 at 9 pm.

Chefs who have the chance to show off their talents on national TV can use Print shops to spread the word and to promote their own businesses.

Gesualdi is the owner of Aux Petits Delices in Wayne. She developed her interest in baking and pastry arts from a young age, when she would spend time cooking with her father. Eventually, her dad helped her get her first job in the kitchen of a restaurant.

She trained in Chicago at the French Pastry School. In 2017, she took over the kitchen and ownership of Aux Petits Delices.
